So I am curious of what people will want in Halo 6 when it comes to player customization. For me, I want dynamic armor customization to return, like Halo: Reach or Halo 4 had. Everyone knows I am a big fan of combining Mark V and Mark VI, best of both classics. I also think it would make clans stand out if the members could distinguish themselves more. Perhaps even some major improvements. Offer black undersuits or different ones, such as the ones the members of Osiris had. There’s no lore reason that we can’t have them, since every Spartan, including Blue Team is wearing GEN 2 armor.
I also would enjoy a tertiary armor color feature, instead of being stuck with white or other colors on the special skins for armors.
Another nice feature would of course, be the return of Sangheili, but I’m sure that is bound to happen. Two Halo games in a row of fans requesting it, third time’s a charm right?
I would like to see armor unlocks via achievements and skill like in 3/reach. It was more fun to have a set goal to work towards rather than just opening a pack and getting whatever armor they give you, if at all.
I also would love the addition of the black undersuit and the removal of the useless white stripes. In addition, the return of individual piece customization would not be hated. In my opinion it allowed for infinitely more customization options and allowed players to further differentiate themselves without the restriction of having to choose from a set selection. Even if it is a somewhat vast one.
I wouldn’t mind limited piece customization as much if there were like, add-ons for each section of armor… Stuff like knives, ammo packets, forerunner/covenant techie stuff, even scopes and additions to helmets like in Reach.
Personally, I’d love to see unlockable cloth add-ons… Capes, hoods, cloaks, even portions of gilly suits! Stuff with physics.
Skins are nice, but they shouldn’t be seperated into different pieces - a drop down menu or something would be good. Tertiary colours would be very nice too, especially if they can be visible even with team colours… Imagine how cool they could look with some skins!
Black undersuits are a must have imo. They help define the armor more and have a sort of ‘classic’ association without being a back-track. If we could change undersuits tho??? Mm that’s a spicy meatball right there. Lit up lines, varying hues and details, etc.
A really far out idea I would love is customizing the colors of the sheilds! The default is like, pale yellow, but you could unlock blue, gold, silver, red, etc… Maybe they even change the recharge noise - red could be really crackly, and gold could be the classic sound from CE through Reach.
As far as unlocking goes, I think a merger between the past different systems would work nicely. Like, you unlock ‘common’ armors as you level normally (either with SR or ranks or otherwise), have to purchase certain sets with currency, and then of course the classic/really rad armors have to be unlocked with skill, determination, or by completing a special objective. There should be a good amount of all of these types.
That way, people can have a good amount of baseline armor they can customize with, and then can still grow and progress as they unlock new pieces.
And yes,, Bring back my beautiful sangheili children… let them fite!!!
